The doctor named the acceptable portion of shish kebab


The optimal portion of shish kebab to enjoy the taste of meat and avoid stomach problems is 100-150 g, Janeta Borlakova, an endocrinologist and nutritionist at the Russian Railways-Medicine family clinic, told Izvestia.
For cooking shish kebab, it is better to give preference to low-fat meats such as chicken or turkey, the doctor noted.
"Control the portion size: 100-150 g is enough to enjoy the taste without feeling heavy in the stomach. Add fresh vegetables and herbs to the table, as well as grilled vegetables — they go well with meat and reduce the load on the digestive system," she recommended.
It is necessary to eat in small portions, using small plates, added Janeta Borlakova.
In people with gastrointestinal problems, overeating fatty meat, according to the doctor, contributes to the exacerbation of chronic diseases of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas. She also recommended moderation in alcohol consumption, as it can increase appetite.
