Lokomotiv beat Avangard and reached the semifinals of the Gagarin Cup.

The Lokomotiv hockey club from Yaroslavl beat the Avangard Omsk team in the seventh match of the second round of the Fonbet - Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoff semifinal.

The match took place on April 23 at the Yaroslavl club's home Arena 2000 and ended with a score of 3:2 in overtime in favor of the hosts. Lokomotiv won the series 4-3 and advanced to the semifinals of the Gagarin Cup, where they will face Ufa's Salavat Yulaev.

Forwards Alexander Radulov (12th minute), Egor Surin (31st) and Alexander Polunin (87th) scored for the winners. Avangard scored goals from defender Evgeny Kulik (49th) and forward Konstantin Okulov (58th).
