A barbecue set in May will cost 3.5 thousand rubles.

The average receipt for a "barbecue set" consisting of meat for frying, skewers, barbecue, charcoal and ignition amounted to 3.5 thousand rubles in April, the analytical center "Check Index" of the OFD Platform company told Izvestia.

Spending on a barbecue set increased by 8% year-on-year in April, analysts said.

The average bill for frying meat increased by 14% over the year, to 904 rubles, for a set of skewers — by 15%, to 382 rubles, for a barbecue — by 11%, to 1,700 rubles. The total cost of the kit, including the ignition fluid, was 3.5 thousand rubles.

"Due to the earlier start of the barbecue season, back in March, there was a rise in demand by 30-35% above last year's level. In April, it was already slightly deflated, as it naturally happens after the first month of the active meat roasting period," the analysts said.

Meat for shish kebab is most often bought at non-chain retail outlets. Pork, chicken, and lamb are the most popular.
