The summer residents were given a way to protect plants from the coming frosts

Agronomist and biologist Mikhail Vorobyov told how summer residents can protect plants from impending frosts.
In an interview with Radio 1 on April 22, the specialist noted that spring plants are very delicate and can die even from a slight minus. To avoid this, small plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers can be covered with a blanket, fur coat, or any other means at hand to retain heat. You can also make a greenhouse inside — put arches over a bed of plants, and another small greenhouse inside the greenhouse.
If we are talking about bushes, it is better to cover them with non-woven fabric in several layers. It can be synthetic gauze, which retains heat well, allows air and water to pass through. For trees, you can make a smoke screen using a smoke pile and a grenade. An electric heater can be purchased in the greenhouse, writes RT.
You can also resort to the use of special drugs that support plants in stressful situations.
Olga Voronova, an expert at the Russian Horticultural Union, warned in an interview with Moskva 24 on April 22 that the cold threatens roses and hydrangeas, which are already in an active growth phase. It is easier to protect these plants: it is enough to cover them with winter covers or simply wrap them with a covering material. The expert recommended doing the same with grapes.
On April 21, Roman Oparin, Associate Professor of the Department of General Biology and Bioecology at the State University of Education, spoke about safety measures for crops when the temperature drops. In his opinion, a decrease in temperature in Moscow on April 26 may lead to the death of fruit trees. He also advised, if possible, not to rush to plant the plants and wait for more favorable conditions.
