The Russian ambassador in London stated that the United States understands Kiev's non-negotiability.

The United States realized that the disruption of the negotiations in London, in which representatives of the United States, Ukraine and the European Union (EU) countries were supposed to participate, meant that the Kiev authorities were completely incapable of negotiating. This was announced on April 23 by Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin.

"Kiev and I have already gone through all this many times, and now the administration of the President of the United States has been able to fully verify this incompetence of Kiev [Donald Trump]," he said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The diplomat added that instead of the commitment to peace that had been talked about for so long in London, Paris and Kiev, American colleagues saw the intrigue of representatives of these powers and their unwillingness to recognize the prevailing realities on earth, just to delay time.

Earlier on April 23, the foreign ministers of France and Germany postponed a meeting in London to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. It was noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was supposed to come to London to meet with the foreign ministers, but canceled his trip after, as the media reported, statements by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky about Crimea.

As the Spectator noted, the negotiations, which were supposed to begin today in London, will turn into a failure due to Zelensky's unwillingness to recognize Crimea as the territory of the Russian Federation. In turn, Alexander Konkov, an associate professor at the Department of Political Science at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia that London would show cowardice in helping Kiev. He also recalled that the UK is actively involved in the military training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

On March 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States was directly talking about its desire to end the conflict in Ukraine, but Europe was demanding "the continuation of the banquet."
