- Italy allowed the country's participation in the UN mission in Ukraine with the consent of the Russian Federation

Italy will agree to participate in a potential UN mission in Ukraine only if approved by Russia. This was announced on April 23 by the head of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Antonio Tajani.
He noted that in order to organize a military mission under the auspices of the United Nations, it is necessary to hold a vote in the UN Security Council.
"In this case, Italy will be ready to participate in such a military mission, but only for this it is necessary to find an agreement with Russia," he said in an interview published on the channel's YouTube channel.
The Financial Times newspaper, citing EU officials, reported on April 3 that European countries are considering the possibility of using NATO command structures when deploying peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.
On the same day, State Duma deputy and First Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee Alexei Zhuravlev told Izvestia that the use of NATO command structures when sending troops to Ukraine would be regarded as an aggressive action by the North Atlantic Alliance. Also, according to him, it will be considered an invasion of the sphere of state interests of the Russian Federation and each such unit will immediately become a priority target for the Russian army.
