Rubio announced a better understanding of Russia's position after negotiations on Ukraine

The United States has become more aware of Russia's position during the negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on April 23 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"I would say that we are participating in order to understand what Russia's position is — now we understand it better, because we really talked to them after three years of silence," he said in an interview with The Free Press portal.

According to Rubio, the United States is currently trying to understand how far apart the positions of the Russian Federation and Ukraine are on the issue of a peaceful settlement. He expressed the opinion that the views of the parties may eventually turn out to be irreconcilable.
