- The United States called on Ukraine to take seriously threats to withdraw from the negotiations

Ukraine should take more seriously the threats of the United States to withdraw from the negotiations on the settlement of the conflict, and also not count on the help of the European Union (EU). This was announced on April 23 by former national security adviser to US President Donald Trump, John Bolton.
According to him, statements by the Trump administration about a possible withdrawal from the negotiation process indicate the "disappointment" of the White House. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that a possible ceasefire "does not bode well for Ukraine."
"I think this is a dangerous position for Ukraine, because if Trump withdraws American military support, which is a real possibility, then Ukraine should count on the Europeans to make up the difference," the UNIAN news agency quoted him as saying on the Telegram channel.
Bolton stressed that in Europe, rhetoric is handled better than execution.
Earlier in the day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a change in Washington's priorities with insufficient progress in resolving the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, the United States has done everything possible and invested a lot of time and energy in the settlement at the highest government levels. At the same time, Rubio clarified that the American side will continue to contribute to achieving a peaceful settlement, "as long as there is a realistic way forward."
US Vice President Jay Dee Vance also said that Washington could withdraw from the negotiations if Moscow and Kiev did not accept the ideas of the American side. According to him, the United States has made a "very clear proposal" for Russia and Ukraine on the path to a peace agreement.
