In Mirny (Republic of Yakutia), a 62-year-old woman became a victim of Internet scams. She lost more than 14 million rubles.

According to the victim, she saw an advertisement for an online platform on which it was allegedly possible to receive income from investments. The woman clicked on the link and left her contact information. Soon, the Yakut woman was contacted by a man who introduced himself as the company's manager. The woman continued to make virtual "deals". When she decided to withdraw the money, the scammers demanded to transfer the funds through the "beneficiary". The pensioner persuaded her friend to apply for a loan and transfer money to the specified account. It didn't help, so the woman turned to other acquaintances. The damage amounted to 2.75 million rubles of the pensioner's own funds and over 11.4 million rubles of money taken from friends.

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a 56-year-old woman became a victim of fraud. She lost more than 5.4 million rubles under the pretext of transferring funds to a "special checking account."
