Russians attributed an increase in their income to regular fitness classes

Among the Russians surveyed, 78% noted that their income increased after starting regular workouts. At the same time, 46% of them believe that this growth is related to fitness. This is stated in the results of a study by the federal network of fitness clubs DDX Fitness, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 24.
Among those who notice financial changes, 25% attribute it to improved well—being and concentration, 23% to increased confidence and self-esteem, and 18% admitted that fitness has helped them become more disciplined.
Among the respondents, Muscovites noted the greatest impact of fitness on earnings, 69% reported an increase in income after starting training. Residents of Volgograd and Voronezh (15%) They also noted positive changes in income after they began to devote more time to training and taking care of their health.
"Fitness classes require a systematic approach and planning skills. This helps people to be more organized, which directly affects their professional lives. Regular workouts are disciplined, which allows you to focus on work and increase productivity," said DDX Fitness coach Alyona Averyanova.
According to her, people who train regularly begin to approach work with the same persistence as they do the training process.
Strength training is the most popular among those whose salaries have increased — 37% of respondents chose it. This is followed by group classes, which are preferred by 24% of the study participants. 14% regularly do stretching, and 7% do Pilates and yoga, respectively. Only 3% and 6% are interested in aerobics and crossfit.
Regular workouts have changed not only how you feel, but also how you perceive yourself. Thus, 31% of the respondents noted an improvement in their health, 25% — an increase in energy, and 23% noticed that, thanks to regular workouts, their appearance improved and this directly affected their sense of self-confidence.
In addition, sport stimulates the production of "happiness hormones" — serotonin, dopamine and testosterone. According to Averyanova, this directly affects motivation, energy, and stress tolerance. So, 59% of the respondents admitted that after starting classes they became more productive and more active at work.
"Sports and physical activity are one of the best investments in oneself. They give you confidence, energy, endurance, and the ability to cope with difficult situations. All this directly affects professional success and income levels," the fitness trainer emphasized.
Earlier, on March 21, it was reported that Russians began to spend more money on sports. In 2024, the peak values of Russians' spending on sporting goods and related clothing were recorded in December, an increase of almost two times compared to January. The average check for these categories was 3.4 thousand rubles, according to VTB data.
