The deputy Mayor of Moscow named the most popular business areas of creative industries

The most popular areas of creative industries among the capital's entrepreneurs are information technology and video games, fashion, cinema and animation, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

According to her, in four years the number of companies and individual entrepreneurs working in this field has increased by 12% to 113,000. "In 2024 alone, more than 7,000 new creative enterprises appeared in the capital," Sergunina said.

The city provides support to the sector, including by organizing accelerators and professional competitions. Industry representatives who participate in such projects can work with experts and find major customers. Moscow pays special attention to the promotion of entrepreneurs' products abroad. "Last year, with the support of the city, entrepreneurs signed about 100 international contracts and agreements in the field of creative industries. The total amount of export contracts exceeded one billion rubles," the deputy mayor said.

Many contracts were signed within the framework of major industry events: the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, Moscow Fashion Week, Moscow International Film Week and many others.

Continuing to work in this direction, this year the city organizes the participation of metropolitan companies in exhibitions abroad, including in Belarus, Indonesia and Egypt. For example, a trip to the Istanbul Computer games and esports Festival is planned in September, and to the Shanghai International Children's Book Fair in November. Presentations and negotiations with potential partners will take place during the events.
