A criminal case has been opened in Yekaterinburg after reports of mass poisoning of children at a local school. This was announced on April 23 in the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Sverdlovsk region in the Telegram channel.
The department indicated that the investigators questioned witnesses, including the management and staff of the educational institution to establish the causes of the incident. Also, to determine the severity of harm and health, the number of injured students is determined. In addition, documents have been requested on the provision of catering services to schoolchildren in the cafeteria.
It is noted that the criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules"). At the moment, the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, on April 21, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened in the Trans-Baikal Territory on the fact of mass poisoning of employees of a gold mining company. So, in March, 56 employees were diagnosed with salmonellosis and toxicoinfection, and numerous sanitary violations were detected in the company that organizes meals. The criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules that inadvertently caused mass poisoning of people").
