Belarusian border guards found a beaten refugee near the border with Lithuania

An Afghan citizen was found exhausted by Belarusian border guards on the border with Lithuania. This was announced on April 23 by the press service of the Border Committee of Belarus.

They said that, according to the man, Lithuanian security forces used physical force against him. The blows fell mainly on the legs.

"The border guards provided first aid to the refugee and called an ambulance. An initial examination of the victim revealed a torn ankle ligament and suspected pneumonia," the department's Telegram channel reported.

The beaten man was taken to the Oshmyanskaya CRH.

Earlier, on April 12, Belarusian border guards found the corpse of a refugee on the border with Latvia in the Vitebsk region. According to the Investigative Committee of Belarus, the deceased did not have any documents during the examination. Food products labeled with the country of origin, Latvia, were found among his personal belongings.
