On April 23, the Victory Flame left Moscow for 12 Russian cities on the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII).

The start of the patriotic action "Victory Fire" in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora was given by Deputy Minister of Transport Evgeny Filippov, the staff of the department, as well as representatives of the departmental security of the Ministry of Transport.

The first route of the campaign passes through Tula, Voronezh, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Kerch and Sevastopol. The second route is via Veliky Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk and Murmansk.

The Fire of Victory project has become a symbol of memory, respect for the heroic deed of the people and the unity of generations. The campaign highlights the importance of preserving the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War and promotes patriotic education of young people.

Earlier, on April 22, the "Victory Train" of the Russian Defense Ministry arrived in the city of Orel as part of the action "Unity in Memory. The power is in the feat!". The train consists of eight carriages with thematic expositions dedicated to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the continuity of generations and the feat of heroes defending the Fatherland.
