In the spring, some people develop a desire for activity, while others experience a decline in strength. Experts told Izvestia what to do in such cases. The SBER EAPTEK and Cooper services also analyzed the change in demand for vitamins and dietary supplements during this period.

Galina Smirnova, an endocrinologist at the Scandinavian Health Center, noted that it is important for those who feel an overabundance of energy to exercise moderation: do not overload themselves with chores and physical exertion, and leave time to rest.

At the same time, those who experience drowsiness and a decrease in mood will benefit from gentle physical activity, light nutrition with sufficient vitamins, and adherence to sleep patterns. The expert clarified that urban residents are particularly susceptible to spring asthenia due to high workload and stress. If there is a marked loss of strength, you should consult a doctor.

"The body needs more resources, and if they are not enough, vitamin deficiency develops. It is worth adding more fruits, vegetables, herbs, legumes and nuts to the diet. It is also important to reduce the consumption of animal fats and simple carbohydrates. Instead of coffee and strong tea, it is better to drink fruit drinks, freshly squeezed juices, compotes and a decoction of wild rose," Smirnova added.

In spring, due to an increase in daylight and an increase in solar activity, metabolic processes are triggered in the body and the need for vitamins increases. According to Elena Prokhorova, head of the SBER EAPTEK pharmacy, vitamins of group B, D3, omega-3, and multicomplexes will help to cope with nervous system overload, vitamin deficiency, and strengthen immunity reduced after winter.

"Drugs based on 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) will help to even out the emotional background and help correct excess weight," she explained.

According to Cooper, Russians have increased their interest in anti-vitamin deficiency drugs. With the onset of spring, in March compared to February 2025, the demand for omega-3 increased by 29.9%, for vitamin C — by 25.54% and for children's multivitamins — by 6.71%. The top most popular dietary supplements among Russians also include magnesium, magnesium C B6, and vitamins for pregnant women.

The trend was confirmed by SBERBANK: in March, compared with February, the demand for dietary supplements for weight correction increased significantly (+29%), complexes with coenzyme Q10 (+25%), immunomodulatory complexes (+20%), dietary supplements for beauty and health (+14%), vitamin-mineral complexes for pregnant and lactating women (+15%), for maintaining the health of the reproductive system (+9%).

Earlier, on April 7, Ilnur Zubairov, a rheumatologist, a doctor of preventive and integrative medicine, and an expert at Solgar, listed body signals indicating a lack of trace elements to Izvestia. According to him, the presence of white dots on the nail plates may indicate a lack of vitamins and trace elements such as zinc, calcium, iodine, vitamin A. In addition, he explained that the symptoms of vitamin C deficiency include dry and split hair, fatigue, swollen and painful joints.
