Russian tourist Olga Delitsina told Izvestia that she did not feel any tremors during a series of earthquakes in Istanbul on April 23.

"We were at a retail outlet, in a store, when the first tremor occurred. I didn't feel it, absolutely. That is, it seemed as if there was a strong gust of wind <...> What happened, I repeat, I did not understand," Olga said.

According to the tourist, she then left the building, where by that time a crowd of people had already gathered and were running out of their homes. In addition, the mine was located in the old district of the city, where there was an increased likelihood of structural collapse.

Currently, there are still many people on the streets of the city, but some shops are closed. There is no panic among the residents of Istanbul.

Three earthquakes in Turkey occurred earlier in the day. The first 3.9-magnitude tremors were recorded off the coast of Istanbul's Silivri district. After that, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred in Istanbul itself. Next, a magnitude 4.4 seismic event was recorded off the coast of Buyukcekmece in the Sea of Marmara.
