The military of the Russian Armed Forces told about the situation at the Gornal monastery in the Kursk region

The Gornal St. Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery in the Kursk region was a very strong fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), in the basements of which the militants set up control points. On April 23, Izvestia was informed about this by the chief of staff of the 5th battalion of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet with the call sign Koshchey.

According to him, the facility is in the line of sight of Russian military personnel and its territory is currently controlled from the air. The military stressed that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had concentrated a large, strong artillery fist on the Gornalevsky area.

"This territory has already been ceded to us, we have cleared it of the enemy. The Gornal monastery was a very strong fortified area, as it is located on its own at a height, located on a mountain. There were deep large basements, where they, the enemy, had a control point for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles. — Ed.), intelligence control points and <...> artillery," he shared.

According to a soldier with the call sign Hedgehog, the strongholds of the Ukrainian militants are located mainly in the surrounding forests. He clarified that only the church in the enemy's village remained occupied, which was difficult to approach.

A fighter of the 810th brigade of the Black Sea Fleet with the call sign Frenchman, in turn, said that his squad noticed the enemy in the forest belt by chance. According to him, the militants were 50 meters away and did not get out during the day. He stressed that the Russian military had destroyed the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The commander of the 5th battalion of the 810th brigade with the call sign Graver also said that if earlier the Ukrainian militants risked delivering supplies to the positions during the day, now they are trying to enter at night. He noted that the Russian military is promptly eliminating the enemy's military equipment and manpower.

"In the vicinity of Gornal, forest belts are being cleared, we are inflicting fire damage on fortified enemy positions. And the assault groups are advancing further," the commander said.

Russian military personnel liberated the Gornal St. Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery in the Kursk region from the occupation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces a day earlier. It is noted that the monastery served as a military facility for Ukrainian militants, on the territory of which artillery installations and drone control points were located.

Later, Russian servicemen shared with Izvestia that the liberation of the monastery could mean the final failure of the Kursk adventure for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
