In German Kiel, residents are evacuated due to a World War II bomb.

More than 11 thousand residents of the German city of Kiel are being evacuated due to the discovery of an aerial bomb from the Second World War weighing 250 kg. This was announced on April 23 by NDR broadcasting company.
"Today, the largest evacuation in the last decade is taking place in Kiel, as a 250-kilogram British aerial bomb is due to be defused this afternoon," the statement said.
It is specified that the explosive device was discovered during reconnaissance work in the Dietrichsdorf area near the highway.
NDR noted that a planned partial explosion may also occur during the decontamination. The sappers who arrived at the scene reported that the bomb's body was in good condition and could be safely defused.
In Cologne, Germany, on April 17, a 500-pound (about 227 kg) bomb was discovered during construction work in the Sylze municipal district. After that, about 7.8 thousand people were evacuated.
