There is no information about casualties or damage caused by the earthquake in Istanbul. The Russian Consulate General announced this on April 23.

"We strongly recommend that all citizens in the city and surrounding areas follow earthquake safety requirements and avoid panic," the diplomatic mission's Facebook page says (the social network belongs to Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

In addition, as reported by the Turkish Mayor's Office on the social network X (ex. Twitter), a damage assessment is currently underway.

"Our employees are in contact with rescue teams as part of emergency response measures and to assess the consequences," the publication says.

On the same day, it was reported that three earthquakes of magnitude up to 6.2 occurred in Turkey. In a statement, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wished a speedy recovery to the injured and said he was closely monitoring developments.
