Avalanche danger predicted in Sakhalin region

Forecasters predicted avalanche danger in the next two days in the Sakhalin region. The situation is under the control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to forecasts, snowfall is likely in the Smirnykhovsky district on April 24 and 25. This is reported by SakhalinMedia news agency. An emergency warning has been sent to the administration with recommendations on how to respond.

Earlier, the avalanche danger was announced from April 19 to April 21.

At the end of March, an avalanche descended in the Yagodninsky district of the Magadan region. A tourist group of six people found themselves in the path of the snow mass. Four tourists were killed, and one was taken to the hospital.
