The wounded swan found by volunteers in Gatchina was brought a pair

A second wounded swan was brought to the Sirin rehabilitation center. His mate was found on a pond in the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region the day before. The bird also suffered from human hands.

According to the 78 TV channel, the volunteers had to catch the wounded swan with their hands for several hours. He was scared and hid in the reeds.

According to veterinarians, the birds have gunshot wounds to their wings. Swans will not be able to return to the wild. Specialists are currently fighting for the life of one of the shot birds.

Earlier in April, it was reported that herons began to return to the Leningrad region after wintering. Every year, the birds arrive at their permanent nesting place, which is called the "heron".
