The Ministry of Agriculture noted the growth of wine production


In January – March, Russia produced 12.4 million dal of wine, which is 11.6% more than in the same period of 2024, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported on April 23.
The leaders among the regions are traditionally the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea, which together account for more than 60% of all products produced in the country. Production growth has been recorded in both regions this year.: in the Kuban, it amounted to 356 thousand dal, in the Crimea — 87 thousand dal.
At the same time, the production of both still and sparkling wines is increasing. In total, in January – March, Russia produced 8.4 million dal of still wines and 3.7 million dal of sparkling wines, which is 11.5 and 15.6% higher than last year.
Consumers are increasingly choosing Russian wine in stores and restaurants, which currently accounts for about 60% of total sales.
Kuban-Vino, the country's largest wine company, emphasizes that wineries in the Krasnodar Territory have been steadily increasing their production volumes in recent years. This is due to the growing needs of the market and government support for the industry. Over the past 10 years, the quality of Russian wine has improved significantly, and more and more consumers are choosing domestic drinks. Currently, there is an increased interest of Russians in white and sparkling wines, which directly contributes to an increase in their production in Russia.
Earlier, on February 4, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the production of wine and cognac in Russia exceeded 60 million dal. It was noted that in 2024, domestic winemakers produced about 61 million dal of wine and cognac, which is 13.4% more than in 2023. The main wine producing regions in our country are traditionally the Krasnodar Territory (the region accounts for 35.8% of total production), the Republic of Crimea (16.1%) and Dagestan (13.7%). Consumers increasingly prefer domestic wines: every year the share of their sales increases both in retail and in public catering.
