Lavrov announced Russia's plans to help strengthen Africa's position in the world

The Russian Federation plans to help strengthen Africa's position and continue to develop relations with the continent. This was stated on April 23 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a video message to the organizers and participants of the IV Forum "Russia - Africa: what's next?" and the I Forum of Young Diplomats "Russia – Africa".
"We support the desire of Africans to play an active role in world affairs. We will continue to promote the consolidation of the continent's position as an independent center of power in the emerging multipolar world order. Russian-African relations are on the rise," the minister said.
In addition, Lavrov noted that Russia and African countries are successfully cooperating and implementing humanitarian projects in the trade and economic sphere.
The head of Russian diplomacy also said that Russia plans to continue helping Africans in their quest to possess modern technologies. The Russian Foreign Minister considers it important "to combine efforts in order to form mechanisms for economic relations and international trade services beyond the control of the West."
Earlier, on April 8, Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, and Anjay Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Chamber of Energy, met in Moscow. The parties discussed the development of joint Russian-African projects, including in the energy sector.
