The Nameless volcano spewed an ash column 9 km high in the Kamchatka Territory. Residents of Ust-Kamchatsky and Tigilsky municipal districts were warned about the possible ash fall.
According to the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the plume is spreading in a northwesterly direction. A small amount of ash may fall in populated areas. There are no registered tourist groups in the volcano area, the KamchatkaMedia news agency clarifies.
The unnamed aircraft was assigned the "red" aviation security code, which soon changed to "orange".
A day earlier, scientists had warned about the high activity of the Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano. The glow in the crater was first noticed on April 20.
