In Moscow, water protection zones are being checked for emergency trees. This was reported on April 23 by the portal mos.ru .

In order to prevent possible threats that may arise as a result of falling dead and emergency trees, inspectors from the Moscow Department of Environmental Management are actively examining water protection zones as part of preventive measures. Especially dry-resistant and emergency trees are dangerous to people and property in adverse weather conditions.

It is noted that the trees subject to sanitary felling are identified and transferred to the balance holders of the territories to take the necessary measures to ensure safety. Compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation is constantly monitored.

At the same time, such trees are identified by the presence of insect exit holes, peeling or missing bark, as well as by the absence of small twigs. Trees with a trunk angle of more than 45 degrees or affected by diseases are considered emergency.

"In case of detection of violations of mandatory requirements for the maintenance of green spaces, administrative measures will be applied. Responsibility for non—compliance with the rules for maintaining green spaces is provided for in Part 2 of Article 4.17 of the Moscow Code of Administrative Offences and may result in a fine of up to 50,000 rubles for officials and up to 350,000 rubles for legal entities," the statement said.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on March 18 that this year specialists will carry out a comprehensive landscaping of the historical part of Leninsky Prospekt — between the Garden Ring and Gagarin Square. Trees will decorate, in particular, Kaluga Square and Gagarin Square.
