A resident of Tomsk was detained for encouraging terrorist activities.


In Tomsk, employees of the Center for Countering Extremism detained a local resident born in 1973, suspected of publicly calling for terrorist activities. This was announced on April 23 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Tomsk region.
"According to the police, the attacker posted a comment in one of the social network communities calling for violence against government authorities. This publication was in the public domain," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities").
On April 8, the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Chelyabinsk Region reported that they had detained a resident of the region who was engaged in terrorist and extremist activities. It was established that from July to August 2024, a resident of the region was a supporter of Ukrainian nationalist structures and was engaged in spreading calls for terrorist and extremist activities on his social media pages, as well as justifying or propagandizing terrorism.
