Immunologist-allergist Vladimir Bolibok told how to protect yourself from poplar fluff.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, April 22, the specialist noted that poplar fluff itself is not an allergen. Meanwhile, when it enters the respiratory tract, it causes irritation, which provokes difficult breathing and coughing, and in some it can cause bronchospasm. The same thing happens if a person enters a dusty room.

During a poplar snowstorm, you can protect yourself by wearing a mask. It can be medical, reusable fabric. You need to protect your eyes with glasses, because fluff can cause conjunctivitis.

The specialist added that it is desirable to tighten the room with some kind of filter material, RT clarifies.

Last May, Marina Smirnova, an allergist and immunologist at the Z.A. Bashlyaeva State Clinical Hospital, Ph.D., told how poplar fluff harms patients. According to her, it carries pollen from plants that cause allergies.

Earlier, NSN, citing experts, wrote that during the allergy season, allergy sufferers should spend less time outdoors, not open windows at home and in the car, and use masks and goggles for protection.
