Senior Ukrainian officials are ready to accept the ideas put forward by US President Donald Trump and his administration in order to reach a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper on April 22.

"Senior Ukrainian officials have indicated that they are ready to consider some of the ideas put forward by Trump and his team, without specifying which ones," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, among the US proposals is the deployment of a European peacekeeping contingent on Ukrainian territory, as well as some individual military forces that are not part of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). It is assumed that they will work together with the Russian Federation and Ukraine and monitor the observance of the ceasefire.

The official representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce, announced on April 22 that the United States is seeking a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict and will await the results of negotiations with Ukraine, Great Britain and France in London on April 23.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that Russia was continuing contacts with the United States on the Ukrainian issue through all possible channels. At the same time, he added that Moscow is not inclined to force a peaceful settlement into a tight time frame.
