"Significant progress has been made in the negotiations, and our trade negotiation team has already received 18 specific proposals. This week alone, the team is scheduled to meet with representatives of 34 countries," she said during a briefing.
Leavitt also noted that negotiations between the United States and China are continuing.
"The president and the administration are preparing the ground for a deal. The process is moving in the right direction," she said.
During a visit to India on April 22, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said that Washington is looking for trading partners who share the principles of justice and national interests. According to him, Trump seeks to restore the balance of global trade.
