- The Israeli Foreign Ministry has deleted its condolences over the death of Pope Francis.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has deleted a message of condolences over the death of Pope Francis. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on April 22.
Facebook Instagram, Facebook (both platforms are owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) and X (formerly Twitter) were published on the accounts of the Israeli Foreign Ministry on social networks.
"The Foreign Ministry published brief messages <...> with the words: "Rest in peace, Pope Francis. May his memory be a blessing." However, the posts were soon deleted, which caused surprise and attracted attention," the article says.
The former Israeli ambassador to the Vatican, Rafael Schutz, expressed the opinion that the decision to delete the publications was erroneous. According to him, the party "should not keep such an account after someone's death."
Pope Francis died on the morning of April 21 at the age of 89. It is noted that he died at his residence in the Vatican's Santa Marta House. The director of the Vatican's Office of Health and Hygiene, Professor Andrea Archangeli, said that the death occurred from a cerebral stroke. He clarified that the pontiff fell into a coma, after which an irreversible cardiovascular collapse occurred. The funeral of the pontiff will take place on April 26.
