Last week, European powers notified the United States of their "red lines" in the context of a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. This was announced on April 22 by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barraud.

"The only goal that worries us is to protect the interests of France and European security. It is for this reason that when the United States decides to take a mediating position, we make them hear what our "red lines" are," Barro told Reuters.

When asked about the likelihood of peace this week, as US President Donald Trump had previously said, Barro noted that "a lot depends on Russia's position.

Earlier, on April 21, The New York Post reported that Trump's possible peace plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine may include the deployment of European forces in that country. The publication noted that such a development of events is necessary to ensure the achievement of a ceasefire.

On the same day, Trump announced that recent U.S. contacts with Russia and Ukraine had been very good. He specified that all the details of the negotiations would be revealed in the next three days.
