Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has voted in a nationwide referendum against Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU). On April 22, he wrote about this on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

According to him, Brussels, together with the opposition Tisa party, are in favor of Ukraine's admission to the EU.

"It will destroy the Hungarian economy. Let's not let them decide our future for us! The referendum is 2025. I have already voted," added Orban.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the EU plans to deprive Hungary of the right to join the EU due to the country's refusal to support Ukraine. It is noted that the implementation of the idea is currently "at an early stage."

Prior to that, on April 19, Orban said that Ukraine's accession to the EU could lead to an escalation of the military conflict with Russia. He also noted that Brussels is going to admit to the European Union a country "that lacks clear borders, a stable economy and full-fledged sovereignty."
