Modern Russians are increasingly using psychological compatibility as the main criterion for choosing a partner. It turned out that 88% of women and 82% of men now check the psychotype of a potential life partner before starting a serious relationship. This was reported to Izvestia on April 23 by analysts of the Mamba dating service.

Experts note that material factors have receded into the background — only 20% of respondents still consider financial stability to be the foundation of a strong union. Instead, 56% of women and 45% of men are convinced that before entering into a relationship it is worthwhile to sort yourself out, perhaps even with the help of a professional psychologist.

The trend is particularly pronounced among the female audience. Two thirds of the surveyed women actively study psychology: they watch thematic videos, take online tests and discuss the results with their friends. Professional terms like "attachment theory" are firmly entrenched in the vocabulary of 52% of Russians. Men show less interest in the theoretical side of the issue — only 30% are familiar with psychological concepts, and 46% are limited to superficial knowledge.

Interestingly, 81% of women and 75% of men now explain the strange behavior of their partners — for example, disappearing after dates, irregular communication — not by bad upbringing, but by psychological characteristics. Almost half of the women (47%) are immediately wary of the manifestations of an anxious or avoidant type of attachment.

The study also showed gender differences in the perception of relationships. A third of women admit that they constantly choose the same type of partner, and 27% consciously change their approach to choosing. Among men, 36% are sure that all their exes were completely different, and 27% do not think about such patterns at all.

"Russians are increasingly choosing a conscious approach to relationships. Casual encounters and spontaneous romances give way to careful compatibility analysis. As a result, both men and women agree that understanding psychotypes and behaviors is the way to a happier relationship," the analysts shared.

Earlier, on April 9, the dating service Mamba named Izvestia the most attractive features of the opposite sex. The study showed gender differences in the perception of such relationships. Among men, 49% noted the successful experience of unions with dissimilar partners, while among women, only 23% were satisfied with such experiments. In addition, analysts have identified key factors of attraction between different characters. Men are more likely to be attracted to women with an unusual profession (43%), a different temperament (36%), or a communication style (26%). Women value openness and sociability in their partners (47%), the ability to create comfort (35%) and prudence (34%).
