The most popular apps and games in 2025 are named

In the first three months, social networks, financial services, and tourism applications proved to be the most popular among Russians. The RuStore app store presented its rating to Izvestia on April 23.

The most downloaded applications were VKontakte, Halva – Sovcombank, VK Video, Ozon Bank and Sberbank Kids. In addition, Russian Railways for Passengers: Train Tickets has overtaken Aeroflot's airline ticket purchase service, which may indicate an increase in the popularity of rail transportation before the May holidays.

The rating of the most downloaded games includes "Cyber Evolution: The Beginning" and Arcane Crystals: Match-3 RPG, as well as Tanks Blitz, BLACK RUSSIA, Grand Mobile. Arcade and RPG genres were surpassed by casual games, which were the leaders in 2024.

"Increasingly, developers are quickly creating simple games to match popular trends — the influence of social media is having an effect. The most striking example is the outdated game Altushka for Skoof. Such games are designed for quick earnings and lose popularity as soon as the trend ends. At the same time, we see a tendency to abandon obsessive forms of monetization and paid games in favor of more in—game promotions or items," said Varvara Yumina, editor-in-chief of RuStore.

Earlier, on April 14, it was reported that the top three most popular games for children aged 4-13 included Roblox, Minecraft and Brawl Stars. The most common genres among children are strategy games, puzzles, simulators, and arcade games. This is stated in the results of a study by MTS analysts.
