Sobyanin announced a unique project for Moscow schoolchildren

The Moscow authorities are organizing military sports camps for children on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. According to the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, "the project, unique for the capital's education system, will start on June 1."
The camps will be named after prominent marshals of the Soviet Union: Zhukov will operate on the territory of the Alabino training ground, Rokossovsky in Patriot Park, Vasilevsky in the Noginsk Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
"Over the summer, more than 4.5 thousand children from grades 7-10 will attend specialized shifts — winners of city, national and international competitions and competitions of sports, tourism and military-patriotic orientation," Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel.
A total of six two-week shifts will be organized during the summer. In the camps, children will receive tactical, engineering and fire training, get acquainted with the basics of topography, fire and rescue operations and field medicine. In addition, children will be taught how to control drones and navigate the terrain.
Participation in the program is free of charge. Applications can be submitted via the web version of the electronic diary "MASH" in the "School" section.
Earlier in April, Moscow launched the selection of schoolchildren and college students to participate in the Great Arctic Expedition. According to Sobyanin, the expedition will take place in late July and early August and will last about two weeks.
In total, 14 students from grades 9-11 and college students will take part in the project. They will have to go to the extreme northern point of Eurasia — Cape Chelyuskin. According to the mayor, "the travelers will improve the territory of the memorial cemetery of pilots and winterers," as well as "engage in scientific volunteerism — they will study Arctic mosses and lichens, flora and fauna of the Laptev Sea."
