Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to ensure the preparation and holding of the Future Technologies Forum in 2026, dedicated to the formation of bioeconomics in the Russian Federation and the application of biotechnologies in economic sectors. The list of instructions based on the results of FBT-2025 is published on the official website of the President of Russia. kremlin.ru .

The upcoming Forum will discuss the key objectives of the national Bioeconomics project, the mechanisms for their implementation, the most important industry trends and forecasts for the development of high-tech technologies in the field of bioeconomics in Russia and the world. The event will bring together leading scientists, representatives of corporations and high-tech enterprises, government and public figures. Advanced developments and the latest innovative solutions in the field of bioeconomics will be presented at the exhibition of technological achievements at the Forum site.

"Russia's richest resources are a national treasure that requires responsible management. The bioeconomics industry aims to maximize the use of natural resources: to introduce technologies for careful extraction and deep processing, minimize waste, and find applications for processed products in other industries. This is a very competitive field, and there are already a large number of advanced solutions in Russia. Over 225 manufacturers produce various bioeconomics products, and almost 50 scientific institutes are engaged in research in this field. Such a base will provide sufficient production facilities and intellectual resources for the implementation of the national project and guarantee Russia's leadership in the field of bioeconomics," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

The new national project "Bioeconomics" will be aimed at creating infrastructure in Russia, developing technologies and production processes for the most efficient use of agricultural, energy, mineral, forest and water resources, biological raw materials in industries such as chemistry, agriculture, energy, ecology, food industry, creation of medicines and others.

As part of the preparation of the national project, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia will determine a list of industrial projects on the basis of which its initiatives will be implemented. Also in 2024, the Scientific and Technological Center for Bioeconomics and Biotechnologies was established in Russia, a consortium led by the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, which included eight scientific institutions. The center's developments will be applied in industry, agriculture, energy and other sectors of the economy.

The implementation of the plans envisaged by the national project will make it possible to achieve technological sovereignty in the bioeconomy by 2030, and leadership in this area by 2036.
