On April 22, Savely, the owner of a zoo in the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), told Izvestia the details of the incident involving the attack of a tigress on an employee of the institution.
"She jumped out of the den and bit through his neck, once. <...> She didn't bite him, nothing, just grabbed his neck. He has a whole body," the man said.
The deceased, according to the zoo owner, was not a resident of Mariupol and worked at the institution for about three months. He clarified that the animals were provided with adequate nutrition, and there had been no problems with keeping tigers before.
The death of a zoo employee was reported earlier that day. Investigators have begun checking into the fact of causing death by negligence.
