In Transbaikalia, the Alkhanai National Park was closed to tourists. This is due to the effect of a fire-prone period on its territory.

The Ministry of Natural Resources of the region explained that a regional emergency regime has been introduced in the forests of the region, and a special fire protection regime is in effect. Thus, visits to the park, located on the territory of the Duldurginsky forestry, are limited.

Due to the restrictions, it was decided to close the park until the end of the emergency regime, writes ChitaMedia news agency.

Since the beginning of the fire season in Transbaikalia, a 69% increase in forest fires has been recorded, while a 36% decrease in dry grass has been observed.

As of the morning of April 22, 51 forest fires are active in the Trans-Baikal Territory on an area of more than 166 thousand hectares. The largest one is raging in the aviation zone in the Tungochensk district.

Also, on April 21, an operational meeting was held on the situation with natural and forest fires in Transbaikalia.

Earlier it was reported that about 380 camera traps will be set up in the forests of the Trans-Baikal Territory to search for arsonists. Information from the devices will be sent to the control room immediately.
