Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told on Tuesday, April 22, which categories of Russians will receive a one-time payment in May for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in the amount of 55 thousand rubles or 80 thousand rubles.

The payment is additional and was appointed on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, RT reports.

The following categories of citizens will receive a payment of 80 thousand rubles: disabled people of the Second World War; veterans of the Second World War; former minor prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos and other places of forced detention created by the Nazis and their allies during the Second World War; widows (widowers) of military personnel who died during the war with Finland, the Second World War, the war with Japan; widows (widowers) deceased invalids of the Second World War and participants of the Second World War.

The payment of 55 thousand rubles is due to the following categories: persons who worked in the rear during the period from June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945 for at least six months (excluding the period of work in the temporarily occupied territories of the USSR); persons awarded orders or medals of the USSR for selfless labor during the Second World War; former adult prisoners of Nazi concentration camps, prisons, and ghettos.

Balynin noted in an interview with aif.ru that you do not need to submit any applications to receive the payment.

He stressed that it is necessary to warn elderly relatives that if someone calls and asks for some information (password from Gosuslug, SMS code, etc.) to make this payment, then this is a fraudster, and you should hang up the phone.

"It is important to remain vigilant, as fraudsters, unfortunately, always become more active when making additional social payments," he concluded.
