The farewell ceremony for muralist, sculptor, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli will take place on April 23 at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. This was reported to Izvestia on April 22 by the academy's press service.

It is specified that the ceremony will begin at 12:00 Moscow time.

The sculptor's funeral will be held in Georgia, the Russian Academy of Arts said.

The President of the Russian Academy of Arts considered both Russia and Georgia to be his homeland.

Tsereteli's death became known earlier that day. His assistant Sergey Shagulashvili told Izvestia that the sculptor died of cardiac arrest in his studio at home.

In turn, Russian sculptor Andrey Korobtsov said that Tsereteli made a significant contribution to Russian art and he will be remembered.
