Rosatom has equipped the second reactor of the Akkuyu NPP with basic equipment

Rosatom specialists have completed the installation of the main circulation pumps at Unit 2 of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), which is being built in Turkey. This was announced on April 22 on the website of the state corporation.

"Having completed the installation of the main circulation pumps, we have completed the installation of the main equipment of the reactor unit of the second power unit. The reactor vessel, steam generators, and hydraulic capacities of the safety systems are already in place," said Sergey Butskikh, General Director of Akkuyu Nuclear JSC.

He added that soon specialists will start installing the main circulation pipeline, which will combine all the components of the power plant.

Earlier, on January 9, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said that the first reactor of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant is planned to be launched in 2025. The commissioning of all four reactors is planned by the end of 2028.
