Every third Russian is going to travel around the country during the May holidays

Half of the Russians surveyed plan to spend the May holidays in their country or outdoors, and almost one in three (29%) is going on a trip around the country. This is stated in the results of the survey of the TV channel "LET'S GO!" (part of the Digital Television Family), which were reviewed by Izvestia on April 23.
At the same time, 44% of respondents mentioned Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan as the most interesting cities for a short holiday trip. 20% of Russians prefer the southern regions of the country, while 18% prefer Siberia and the Far East. In addition, 38% of the survey participants named landscapes and scenic nature as the main aspects when choosing a travel route. Another third noted that they take into account the cost of the trip and the convenience of the destination, as well as the sights.
"In early May, residents of our country often devote weekends and holidays to short-term rest and travel in Russia. Trips to cities with iconic landmarks are becoming especially popular," said Nikita Pimenov, host of the LET'S GO! TV channel.
At the same time, 40% of travelers are ready to allocate from 10 thousand to 30 thousand rubles for a trip during the May holidays. 42% called the amount over 30 thousand rubles comfortable. Every fourth person is willing to give up takeaway coffee and other small expenses in order to save money on a trip. And only 7% prefer not to save on everyday pleasures for the sake of travel, according to the survey results.
The majority of Russians (60%) like to travel with their family. 30% spend time traveling with friends, and one in ten spend time alone. The tourists surveyed most often choose a car as their transport (40%), less often an airplane (30%), and a train (22%) in third place. And only 8% voted for the bus.
Earlier, on April 21, it was reported that the traditional beach holiday is gradually losing ground. Russians are increasingly interested in author tours from local residents (25%), sanatorium recreation (24%), railway routes (11%) and gastronomic trips (10%). This is stated in the results of a study of the omnichannel marketing platform Calltouch.
