Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Kalinin pointed out Tsereteli's contribution to world art

The contribution of muralist, sculptor, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli to Russian and world art is invaluable. This was announced on April 22 by Soviet and Russian painter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Viktor Kalinin.

"And therefore, of course, the loss is incredible, but at the same time, he has so powerfully declared himself and our country," he said.

Kalinin called Tsereteli an incredibly gifted man. According to the Russian painter, the sculptor left his mark, and the power of his gift spread all over the world.

The Honored Artist of the Russian Federation also added that thanks to his talent, Tsereteli won first places at competitions, including world competitions held in France, Spain, Latin America and other countries.

"This contribution will be recognized for eternity. Thank you to all those who have accepted our grief, so to speak, and who share this sorrow," he concluded.

The President of the Russian Academy of Arts considered both Russia and Georgia to be his homeland.

The death of the muralist, sculptor and president of the Russian Academy of Arts became known earlier that day. His assistant Sergey Shagulashvili told Izvestia that the sculptor died of cardiac arrest in his studio at home. The funeral will be held in Georgia.

In addition, Russian sculptor Andrey Korobtsov said that Tsereteli made a significant contribution to Russian art and he will be remembered.
