NATO's hostile policy is based on aggressive military planning. This was announced on April 22 by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko.

According to him, over the past few years, within the framework of the North Atlantic Alliance, countries have been trying to pool their military resources — this trend is aimed against the security interests of the Russian side.

"Such a hostile policy is based on hostile military planning, which we have to take into account and will take into account in our defense plans in order to reliably ensure both our security and our defense capability," the Russian deputy Foreign Minister said in an interview with TASS.

He added that Russia will use all available means to ensure its defense capability.

"We will carefully look at the evolution of the situation. And if necessary, we will take and implement other decisions that we deem necessary," Grushko said.

The Deputy Foreign Minister also expressed the opinion that NATO's aggressive intentions are turning Northern Europe into an arena of clashes, although previously the region was considered "the most peaceful militarily."

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark are actively rearming "due to their desire to confront Russia, as well as due to uncertain security guarantees from the United States." In particular, in 2024, they presented a common defense concept until 2030 within the framework of the Northern Defense Cooperation.

In turn, Pavel Feldman, Candidate of Political Sciences, professor at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, told Izvestia that reports of the unification of military resources by the Scandinavian countries may indicate that they have decided to learn how to defend themselves on their own.
