Von der Leyen announced queues of people willing to work with the EU

Countries are lining up to cooperate with the European Union. This was announced on April 22 by the President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen.
"In an increasingly unpredictable global environment, countries are lining up to work with us," Politico newspaper quoted von der Leyen as saying.
She noted that in recent weeks she has been in contact with the leaders of Iceland, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Canada, India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who are looking for "strong, reliable partners."
According to the newspaper, the statement of the head of the EC is related to trade duties imposed by US President Donald Trump. Von der Leyen stressed that the world order is currently changing more strongly "than at any time since the end of the cold war."
Earlier, on April 15, von der Leyen, answering a question about the possible leadership of the EU in the Western world, declared the disappearance of the West in the usual sense. At the same time, she argues that the European Union needs significant changes in order for it to be of great importance in shaping a new world order. According to the head of the EC, the association needs to develop in the defense sector and increase its competitiveness.
