On April 22, the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia talked about how to protect yourself from cyberbullying. According to them, it is especially dangerous for the mental health of adolescents.

"In Russia, according to a 2019 study by the Higher School of Economics, one in four schoolchildren has encountered this phenomenon," the department said in a message on its Telegram channel.

Law enforcement officials advise blocking people who use rude language. Also, you should not enter into a dialogue with the aggressor, and if you receive threats of violence, you should contact the police.

If an attacker has resorted to publishing personal or compromising information without a person's consent, then it is necessary not to forward or save "sensitive correspondence", as well as various materials in messengers. Law enforcement officials recommend storing them in encrypted notes with two-factor protection.

When "trolling" is used against a person, one should not react to it, but record the evidence. If you find a fake account using a person's real data to spread false information or insults, you must complain about the page.

Earlier, on April 10, it was reported that from the results of a Kaspersky Lab survey, one in ten children is confronted with offensive messages and memes on the Internet. Also, in order to offend a person, they resort to creating groups and public sites. According to experts, insults on the Web, if they occur systematically, can be a manifestation of cyberbullying, or online harassment.
