The doctor listed three mandatory vaccines in the spring period

In the spring, it is necessary to make three mandatory preventive vaccines — against rabies, tetanus and tick-borne encephalitis. This was stated on April 22 by Andrey Izyumov, a geriatrician and internist at the Russian Gerontological Research and Clinical Center of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, in an interview with <url>.
The expert advised those who work with the land to be especially careful — summer residents, gardeners and farmers, since the causative agent of tetanus lives in the ground and can be infected through wounds and abrasions.
Izyumov also recommended to be extremely attentive to mushroom pickers, foresters and tourists who, when traveling, risk getting into the so-called endemic zones, where outbreaks of tick-borne encephalitis most often occur.
"If you are going to travel around Russia and you know that you will spend a lot of time in nature, it is better to first clarify the situation in this area. You can do this on the Rospotrebnazdor website," the doctor said.
However, he noted that sometimes vaccines against rabies, tetanus and tick-borne encephalitis are given urgently. This happens during the first few hours after a person's contact with the pathogens of a particular disease without fail.
Vladimir Neronov, an infectious disease specialist at JSC "Medicine", MD, noted on March 25 that the vaccination procedure is easily tolerated. But the consequences of an insect bite can be detrimental, ranging from damage to the central nervous system and ending with disability.
