Kanaeva left the coaching staff of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team


Two-time Olympic champion Evgenia Kanaeva announced her retirement from the coaching staff of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team on April 21.
«2015–2025. I want to express my gratitude to every person I was lucky enough to work with in the national team. Your efforts and support have made this experience unforgettable!" Kanaeva wrote on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Kanaeva has worked on the coaching staff of the Russian national team for almost 10 years. She is a two-time Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics in 2008 and 2012, as well as a seventeen-time world champion. In 2008, she received the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
On February 22, Oleg Belozerov, President of the Russian Gymnastics Federation, announced the appointment of Tatiana Sergayeva as the new head coach of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team. It was noted that Sergayeva had trained female athletes who represented the International Association of Heavenly Grace Clubs at the BRICS Games and became champions in the all-around.
