Wilfand predicted a drop in temperature in Moscow by the weekend

A significant cold snap is expected in Moscow, on Saturday, April 26, the temperature will drop to +8 degrees due to the western and north-western air masses. This was announced on April 22 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
He specified that the warm July weather will remain until Wednesday, April 23, inclusive. At the same time, from Thursday, western and northwestern air masses will begin to arrive in the Moscow region, which will lower the daytime temperature to +17 degrees in the capital and up to +21 degrees in the region.
On Friday, April 25, an even greater cold snap is expected, the weather will turn May, and daytime temperatures are expected to be around +15 ... +16 degrees, nighttime — up to +11 degrees.
"And it's only on Saturday that the April weather returns, but the return is noticeable. It's already +4...+8 degrees at night. And daytime temperatures are +8...+13. This temperature is 1 degree below normal," Vilfand said in an interview with Interfax.
According to the forecaster, temperatures are expected to reach +5 degrees in the capital at night on Sunday, and up to +2 degrees in the Moscow region. He also added that such weather is the norm for April and a sharp warming should not be expected in the near future.
"We can't say that this is March weather. No, it's April. It's just a characteristic of how we return from a super—extreme situation to a normal life," Vilfand said.
On April 21, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia what the weather will be like for Muscovites during the week of April 21. According to her, a significant drop in temperature is expected by the weekend. It will rain occasionally on Saturdays, but sleet may start on the 27th. However, she claims: This does not mean that snow will fall on the surface of the earth.
