The NYT learned about Harvard's lawsuit against the Trump administration

Harvard University has filed a lawsuit against the administration of the American leader Donald Trump after its threats to cut funding for the educational institution due to its refusal to change domestic policy. This was reported on April 21 by The New York Times (NYT), citing Harvard President Alan Garber.
Harvard, the richest university in the world, sued the Trump administration on Monday, responding to its threats to cut billions of dollars in research funding.
According to the newspaper, the lawsuit alleges an attempt by the White House administration to unleash a large-scale attack by gaining control over Harvard and some other major US universities.
Garber said that the US government is trying to establish "unprecedented and inappropriate control" over the educational institution. According to him, such a policy can have "serious and long-term" consequences.
The Wall Street Journal newspaper on the same day reported that the Trump administration intends to deprive Harvard University of another $ 1 billion due to its refusal to change the internal policy of the educational institution. On April 14, the Department's task force on combating anti-Semitism announced that the U.S. Department of Education had announced the freezing of grants for Harvard University in the amount of $2.2 billion due to the school's refusal to comply with the instructions of the American leader.
